A+ Content that lifts conversion: 9 module patterns
Good A+ Content is not decoration. Each module should remove one doubt that stops a shopper from buying. These are the nine patterns we use most, and when to use each.

Before you design anything
Read your reviews, your competitors’ reviews and the questions customers ask. List the doubts that come up repeatedly: size, durability, compatibility, how to use it, how it differs from cheaper options. Those doubts are your brief. Then remember that most shoppers see A+ Content on a phone, so text inside images must be large and short. A+ Content requires Brand Registry.
1. The promise banner
A full-width image with the product in use and one line stating the main benefit. It sets the tone and tells the shopper they are in the right place. Keep the headline under eight words.
2. Problem and solution
Show the familiar frustration on one side and your product solving it on the other. This works well when shoppers do not yet know why your version is better.
3. The feature set
Three or four images in a row, each with one feature and the benefit it creates. Write the benefit, not just the specification: not only 304 stainless steel, but rust-resistant for years of daily use.
4. How it works
Numbered steps showing setup or use. Ideal for anything with assembly, installation or a routine. It reduces the fear that a product will be complicated, and cuts returns caused by incorrect use.
5. Size, fit and compatibility guide
A clear chart or diagram showing dimensions, what it fits and what it does not. For parts, accessories and clothing this is often the single most valuable module, because wrong-fit purchases are a major cause of returns.
6. What is in the box
Everything the customer receives, laid out and labelled. It prevents disappointment and answers a common pre-purchase question.
7. Materials and quality close-ups
Detailed images of stitching, finishes, components or ingredients, with short captions. This is how you justify a higher price than the cheapest alternative.
8. The comparison chart
Your own products side by side, with a few rows of differences that actually matter. It helps shoppers choose the right model and keeps them within your brand instead of returning to search results. Do not compare against competitors by name; Amazon does not allow it.
9. Brand and trust
A short section on who makes the product, how long you have been doing it, and any warranty or support you offer. Pair this with the Brand Story carousel, which sits above A+ Content across your listings.
Putting the patterns together
You do not need all nine. A typical strong layout uses five to seven modules in this order: promise, problem and solution or feature set, how it works, size or compatibility guide, quality close-ups, comparison chart, brand. Lead with whatever doubt appears most in reviews.
Details that are easy to miss
- Image alt text: describe each image accurately. It supports accessibility and helps Amazon interpret the content.
- Mobile check: preview every module on a phone before submitting.
- Claims: avoid guarantees, medical claims, time-sensitive offers and competitor references, which commonly cause rejection.
- Consistency: the same fonts, colours and photo style as your image gallery.
- Testing: eligible brands can split test A+ Content in Manage Your Experiments. Test one meaningful difference at a time and let the test run to completion.
What results to expect
Amazon says Basic A+ Content can raise sales by up to 8% and Premium A+ by up to 20%. Those are upper estimates from Amazon, and real results depend on the product, the traffic and the quality of the content. The dependable benefits are fewer unanswered questions, fewer wrong-fit returns and a listing that looks like an established brand. For done-for-you design, see our A+ Content service.

Frequently asked questions
How many modules can A+ Content have?
Basic A+ Content allows up to five modules per ASIN, and Premium A+ allows up to seven, with larger and more interactive formats. Brand Story is separate and additional.
Does text in A+ Content get indexed for search?
Amazon does not treat A+ text like the title and bullets for keyword indexing. Treat A+ as a conversion tool, and fill in image alt text properly.
Why was my A+ Content rejected?
Common reasons include unsupported claims, references to competitors, pricing or promotional language, contact details, low-quality images and text that is too small to read.
How often should A+ Content be updated?
Review it when you see new recurring questions in reviews, when the product changes, or at least once a year.
